Vika signs out of school and goes to Ethan’s house to spy on Mr. Rylance to see what is drawing Ethan’s novel at school. She looks into his studio to find that Mr. Rylance is somehow still drawing even though he does not have a marker in his hand. She looks closer and sees Inkling drawing Mr. Rylance's graphic novel! She then knows that that is what she saw in Ethan's room that night. Then she sees Inkling go over to a comic (oh no), and eat up the whole page.She then knew that this is what must be doing Etham's work for him. She keeps looking and sees that he can't move on glass, and she hears Mr. Rylance call Inkling by his name. When Ethan gets home, him and Inkling have a talk, and Ethan gives Inkling a book to read. The family decides to go to the park, and Ethan and his dad talk about Ethan's graphic novel for school. That night, Inkling looks for the thing that he fells like he should find. He knows that it is in the drawing room, but he is too scared to go into te room. He goes back to Ethan's room to read and he wishes that he was braver.
