In Chapter 3, back home the ink splotch was exploring. It found some books and started to read them. It kept reading, then kept exploring. When it went inside Ethan’s room again, it found his picture of Ethan and his Mom. The ink went over the photo and erased as it went, and all of a sudden it felt like it needed to find something. The ink then finds a crumpled piece of paper that was actually Soren’s story for the graphic novel. It read that too and then started to draw the graphic novel as it was before. At school, Ethan is given detention because when the ink splotch ran over the math book it erased the match, so Ethan had to fill it in again. Then he gets a letter from his crush, and she tells him to deliver it to his dad. Turns out it was a fan letter and Ethan’s dad does not want to read it.
